# Constance

> Ask questions about your own portfolio in plain language, from the terminal, Telegram, or any MCP client

# What is Constance?

Constance is the read-only portfolio assistant built into Renesis. It answers questions about the accounts, wallets and portfolios you already see in the dashboard: NAV, PnL, holdings, risk metrics, DeFi positions, funding, trades, transfers, and how any of those developed over time. It can also keep watch for you with alerts that fire when a metric crosses a line or a transfer lands.

It reaches you on three surfaces, all running the same tool catalogue and the same guards:

* **Terminal chat.** A full page at `/constance` in the [dashboard](https://terminal.renesis.fi), plus a drawer on every other page.
* **Telegram.** Connect a DM or a group chat to your accounts and ask there.
* **MCP server.** Bring your own agent and model. Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop or any Model Context Protocol client can call the same tools against your data. See [Connecting over MCP](/constance/mcp).

<Note>
  Numbers come from the same portfolio ledger that drives the dashboard and the LP Report Studio. If the dashboard NAV is wrong, Constance is wrong too. Fix the ledger first (re-reconcile the affected wallet or account), then ask again.
</Note>

## What it can and cannot do

Constance **cannot trade, transfer, or change your accounts**. Every tool is a read over an endpoint the dashboard already calls. The one exception is deliberate and narrow: it can create, update and delete **alert rules** on your own data.

Every call carries your own credential, and the owning service re-checks access on each one. You see exactly what you see when signed in, nothing more. A guessed account id answers with "that data is not available", never with data.

## What you can ask

| Topic | Examples |
| - | - |
| **Accounts and NAV** | Which accounts do I have? What is my NAV on Kraken? Total NAV across everything? What were my balances on 31 March? |
| **PnL and history** | How did NAV develop this year? Show me realized PnL per month. NAV in BTC terms over 6 months. |
| **Risk** | Volatility, max drawdown, Sharpe, Sortino, VaR, how risk changed over the last 12 months, alpha and beta against BTC or the S\&P 500. |
| **Positions** | Open perps with side, size and entry. Spot holdings and cost basis. What the exchange shows right now. |
| **DeFi** | Value and PnL per protocol, strategy or position. Staking, LP and vault positions and their yield curves. Impermanent loss. On-chain transactions. |
| **Perps and funding** | Funding paid and received, perps realized PnL, rebates. Market funding rates and spot-perp carry across exchanges. |
| **Attribution and strategies** | Exposure by category (majors, stablecoins, DeFi, meme). Strategy groups and their legs. Which positions are ungrouped. |
| **Activity** | A dated journal of trades, transfers, rewards, funding and fees. Orders and fills. Deposits and withdrawals. |
| **Market data** | FX rates, spot prices, price history, an exchange's spot markets, Bluechip stablecoin grades. |
| **Alerts** | Tell me when NAV drops below 1M. Ping me on any USDT withdrawal. Send me NAV and PnL every morning at 9. |
